Many of us will be traveling for memorial day weekend, but your summer travels don’t have to be impacted by construction. A new online map has been released to the public, which can help you avoid the traffic. The Maryland State Highway Administration recently released a map that pinpoints constructions zones, so that commuters can plan to navigate around them. It couldn’t come at a better time too, as the Maryland Department of Transportation will have a record high of construction projects this year. The new application is called “E-Road Ready” and it highlights 165 constructions projects across all of Maryland’s Counties.

The mapping technology has drastically improved this year, and users can enter their location, choose a county, or click on details about a specific project.

“Once you click on one of those construction barrels, it’ll give you all kinds of information including the limits, the scope of the project, and also what to expect, whether it’s single, double lane closures, a summer detour.”

– Charlie Gischlar, State Highway Administration
