The Maryland State Geographic Information Committee (MSGIC) serves as a statewide, volunteer-led organization of GIS professionals from Maryland’s public, private, academic, and nonprofit sectors. The committee promotes the use of geospatial technologies and supports efforts that improve data accessibility, best practices, and professional development across the state.
As a registered 501(c)(3) organization, MSGIC functions as a central resource for policy advocacy, GIS training, and interagency cooperation.
MSGIC meets quarterly, typically on the third Thursday of January, April, July, and October. We welcome member comments and encourage you to share ideas and bring issues to our attention. Members are also invited to attend Executive Committee meetings, which are held on the second Wednesday of each month. Please visit the Events page to view upcoming events.
Additionally, we encourage you to participate in one of our Caucus or Subcommittee groups. Our goal is to provide an effective forum to discuss, debate, and make decisions on critical issues.
