MSGIC is proud to announce the appointment and installation by the United States Department of Interior of Doug Adams (Baltimore County Government) to the National Geospatial Advisory Committee (NGAC) as a County representative. The NGAC provides advice and recommendations on national geospatial policy and management issues, the development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), and the implementation of the Geospatial Data Act of 2018. The NSDI promotes geospatial data sharing across all levels of government, the private and non-profit sectors, and the academic community.

Mr. Adams has been a long-time member of MSGIC and has served as Chair and Vice Chair in the past.  In 2018, MSGIC sponsored Mr. Adams for this appointment due to his leadership roles with MSGIC, his dedication to GIS in the State, and his commitment to teaching and mentoring students and emerging professionals in the GIS field.  We are fortunate to have dedicated GIS professionals in the State of Maryland and we are honored that he will be representing Baltimore County and the State of Maryland on the NGAC.
